Edible Education Experience, a small non-profit devoted to empowering our community  through seed-to-table experiences, is seeking a dynamic, organized professional to roll up their sleeves and cultivate continued growth of the organization.

PRIMARY CUSTOMERS, PARTNERS, AND TEAM:  

At Edible Education Experience (EEE), our primary customers are students, families, teachers, chefs and gardeners at the Emeril Lagasse Foundation Kitchen House & Culinary Garden (KH&G). Our capital partners are Orlando Junior Academy, Emeril Lagasse Foundation, AdventHealth for Children. Our team members are staff and volunteers of EEE.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Works with and helps develop EEE team to coordinate healthy living, preventive healthcare, and educational programs while maintaining and growing community relationships related to this programming.

Promotes EEE programs and the KH&G as a community benefit through marketing via a variety of media platforms and collateral that develops increased capacity towards a two-year goal (end of 2020) of earned income generating 70% of expenses, in a way that supports the sustainability of this job position. (2017-38%, 2018-49%)

Provides KH&G scheduling and coordination for customers and partners of our programs including assisting with events, establishing costs between EEE and customers and partners, working with customers, partners, and team members to ensure successful events.

Connects with capital partners and community sponsors which includes building a strong collaborative relationship with related parties, including, school administrative and teaching staff, church and youth organizations’ administrative staff. Seeks grant opportunities to expand programs. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff, i.e. executive management and all staff, both written and verbally.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with good organizational, follow-up, computer, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to conduct oneself professionally, maintaining confidence and confidentiality, as well as integrity and objectivity.

  • Ability to provide constructive and respectful feedback that is encouraging and effective.

  • General understanding of plant-based healthy living for the sake of students and families dealing with today’s cultural health conditions.

  • Familiarity with kitchen and garden settings and ability to develop positive relationships with all stakeholders including students, parents, teachers, chefs, gardeners, staff, and community.

  • Understanding of the range and scope of services provided by EEE.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel,    Google Suites and basic graphic design

  • Mail Chimp or similar web-based subscriber platform

  • Square Space website design platform

  • QuickBooks and Donor-based software programs         

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing or relevant discipline)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration

  • 2-3 years business or non-profit development experience

  • 2-3 years sales force experience

  • Strategic and financial planning experience

  • Team-building, promotion and scheduling experience

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Demonstrates, through behavior, Edible Education Experience’s core values of Love for Others, Authenticity, Pleasant Experiences, Sustainability, and Teamwork

  • Seeks business and responds to customers and partners regarding programs and events

  • Connects with customers and partners upon arrival and assists them with questions and payment arrangements.

  • Routinely meets with the Team and Executive Director to discuss overview of services, performance, and plan of action for growth of strategic programs.

  • Assists chefs and gardener with development and implementation of programs and services.

  • Collaborates with the Team to ensure seamless experience for customers and partners.

  • Routinely educates visitors on EEE mission, programs and community benefit services.

  • Directs activities designed to increase awareness of EEE services by target audiences and of EEE services as requested.  

  • Responds to inquiries from customers and partners regarding details of events, programs and community benefit services, scheduling appointments and events

  • Schedules appointments and events and communicates to team on a timely basis.

  • Oversees the execution of activities related to the KH&G, such as meeting with school principals and administration, youth associations’ Executive Directors and church representatives. Assists customers with Chef Night and teachers with Seed-to-Table Teacher Academy.

  • Provides oversight of curriculum development in collaboration with partners and staff. Conducts annual program evaluations, and provides direction, mentoring, and support as necessary.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The job requires a person to work on occasional weekends, outdoors, with children, with adults, and with new people constantly. Includes risks inherent with cooking and gardening.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The incumbent is required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and, walk, drive and bend frequently. Has the ability to see and hear. Able to lift somewhat heavy objects occasionally. Use of keyboards and phones frequently. Cope with high level of stress, make timely decisions, concentrate, handle a high degree of flexibility, handle multiple priorities, work alone, demonstrate high degree of patience, work in areas that are close and crowded. Accept flexible schedules.

COMPENSATION

Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 annual full time (40 hours per week), depending on qualifications.

Benfits: Two weeks paid vacation.
